GSH Group, a world leader in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) enabled facilities management, hosted its 4th edition of Sustainable Energy Forum on the theme of Decarbonization with ESG Enabled Facilities Management. This event brought together industry experts, thought leaders, and stakeholders to discuss sustainable energy use, conservation, and environmental responsibility.
The Chief Guest was Dr. R. Velraj, Vice Chancellor, Anna University.
The objective of this forum revolved around the growing urgency to adopt sustainable energy practices, recognizing the fast depletion of energy resources worldwide, and promoting innovative solutions to address the global energy challenge.
In his address, Dr. R. Velraj, Vice Chancellor, Anna University said, “The world is encouraging the use of sustainable energies that produces minimal disturbance to the atmosphere. A big part of it is energy efficiency. Energy audits are necessary because in energy intensive operations, the potential of saving energy is very high.”
“If the share of renewable energy is to reach 80% of our energy supply, we need economically viable storge technologies. We should not depend only on one mode of storage technology, we need to invest in hybrid forms of storage. In the near future, we are looking at hybrid sources of energy that are going to be stored in hybrid systems based on the specific requirement of the energy application,” he added.
Highlighting the significance of the event, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between GSH India and Anna University. GSH will provide training and on-site experience to the students of Anna University.
