Athmalaya is an institution taking Bharathanatyam dance classes exclusively for women since 1998. Athmalaya was founded by Mala Bharath and has completed 25 years. As part of their Silver Jubilee Celebrations, they are planning to organize a Mega Dance Carnival exclusively for women. It is going to be a unique event named “Athmalaya SilveRazzmatazz “. The theme is “Folk Dances of India.” The event will have folk dances being performed by women aged between 25 and 80.
The women who come for the carnival will also be able to learn some folk steps and dance for the music. There are going to be several dance related games for the participants to play and win prizes.
It’s a cultural celebration with interactive activities. It will be a colourful evening of music, dance and food where women can unwind and celebrate the joy of dancing and carry cherished memories.

About Mala Bharath
Mala Bharath is the Founder and Artistic Director of Athmalaya. Mala is a passionate Bharathanatyam dancer. She has to her credit over 500 stage programmes in India, Singapore, USA and Canada, several Doordarshan appearances. She has won many awards and titles for her contribution to this art. Her experiences of dancing over the years gave her insight to present dance as a therapy to women. Inspired by Mahatria Ra of Infinitheism, Mala started Athmalaya in the year 1998.
Mala is successfully running Athmalaya for 25 years with a team of 17 competent teachers and over 200 students from several parts of the world through direct and online classes. She also conducts corporate workshops and is creating a long-lasting impact in the lives of several women spreading the joy of dance.
